Music Vision
Here at Ewanrigg Junior School, we want our children to love music. We want our children to recognise that music is a powerful universal language that promotes unity, stimulates their imagination, and is a vehicle to express and process their emotions. We want our children to be able to access the soothing qualities and to unlock the methods of aiding memory the music provides.
- Our Musicians will be able to talk about a variety of music genres and instruments confidently using technical vocabulary, clarity, and thoughtfulness.
- We want our musicians to see the significance that music plays in all cultures and communities, locally and across the globe, and understand how it has evolved over time.
- We want our musicians to be confident and skilled at recognising and evaluating a variety of musical genres.
- We want our musicians to have the confidence to perform, individually and collaboratively, in front of an audience and express themselves through singing, playing instruments, or composing.
- We offer all of our children the opportunity to receive free guitar lessons from a qualified music teacher.
- We aim to inspire children to have the confidence to experiment with and compose music using a variety of mediums.
- Our lessons will provide the children with a risk-free environment that allows them to hear, experiment with and play a variety of musical instruments.
- We want our Musicians to have fun: to make their learning enjoyable, successful, and engaging so that they foster a life-long passion for music.
