CHAIR OF GOVERNORS' WELCOME
is Janet Butler.
I am pleased to be the
Chair of the Governing Body at Ewanrigg Junior School
and happy to be supported by my co-Chair, Mrs Yvonne
my work at EJS many years ago when I worked alongside
Mrs Julia Brown in providing teaching and additional
support for children with Special Educational Needs.
I then became the
Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
I was employed by Learning Support Service and became an
LEA governor of Ewanrigg Junior School.
I have continued in the
governing role for over 20 years. During this time I
have been Chair of the Curriculum and Attainment
I have also served on
the Health and Safety and Finance and Staffing
governing role I have joint responsibility for Special
Educational Needs provision.
I enjoy visiting the
school and spending time with the children.
I have been able to use
my teaching skills to assess pupils who may need
specific additional support.
With Mrs Dawson I
helped to monitor attendance and to ensure that children
are safe in school.
that you can be” is the motto of EJS.
Every person working
here is fully committed to encouraging every pupil to
develop academic and social skills which will equip them
to go forward to be good citizens and to achieve a
successful and happy life.
Although it is more than 10 years
since I stopped working in the classroom at this school
I still feel a valued member of the EJS family.
We, as a school, will strive to
provide your children with the best education, a
positive environment and a place where they all feel
safe and valued as individuals.
