Personal development and SEMH education is at the core of EJS life and is the golden thread through our culture, policies and procedures. We strive to nurture happy and healthy children as this is central to all aspects of their learning and development. We aim to provide all our pupils with the initial building blocks necessary to embrace the challenges of a happy and successful adult life. Our curriculum helps our children to tackle many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up.

We have a strong focus on mindfulness and understanding and caring for our mental health. We want our children to make informed decisions about their wellbeing and teach them the fundamental characteristics of healthy relationships. Positive mental health is as important to us as positive physical and academic health.

We develop a PSHCE curriculum that allows our children to become confident, independent members of society with an awareness of their rights and responsibilities as individuals and as part of a diverse society. We want our children to be able to make informed, healthy and moral choices in their lives and are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.
